Ocean Marine was incorporated in 1989. Starting as a yacht repair company with an emphasis on power systems, Ocean Marine evolved into a full service facility. For twelve years, Ocean Marine serviced yachts up to 80' at its Portsmouth location, and larger vessels at area facilities. From 1998 to present, Ocean Marine management planned the expansion now known as Ocean Marine Yacht Center. The Marina was opened in June of 2001, the Repair/Refit Yard was opened in April of 2002, and in June of 2002, the Dry Storage Facility was opened.
Ocean Marine Yacht Center is a state-of-the-art complex with an emphasis on customer service and quality assurance.
Ocean Marine's Service Department repairs stern drives, outboards, and gas and diesel engines. The facility's highly qualified and experienced technicians specialize in transmission, engine, steering and hydraulic repair, fiberglass and gel coat repair, bottom painting, stabilizer repair, propeller, shaft and strut repair, and air conditioning and refrigeration repair.
Ocean Marine is an authorized factory dealer for: Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Lugger, MAN, Northern Lights, Onan, Volvo, Westerbeke, Yanmar, Borg Warner, Twin Disc, and ZF.
MEGA YACHT REPAIR
Ocean Marine offers a wide range of mega yacht services from annual maintenance to refit and repair. The facility's 1250-ton Syncrolift is capable of hauling mega yachts up to 240'. From the Syncrolift, yachts are transferred via ground level rail to the yachtyard or the enclosed paint/repair building, which is capable of housing two 235' yachts simultaneously.
The paint/repair building's twin 250' x 70' bays have heated floors for heating the hull evenly and allowing year-round service and repair, regardless of temperature or unfavorable weather. The OSHA-approved ventilation system is capable of pressurizing the paint building to keep dust out and to assure a quality paint finish consistently. The paint building's smooth-paneled overhead and walls are surrounded with recessed lighting to eliminate shadows. All walls of the paint/repair building have a self-cleaning water washdown system. Also, the building is hurricane rated and is fully grounded to prevent static electricity.
